Giving Starts at Home

Grace the Bee woke up to a warm, cozy smell drifting through the hive — honey oat cakes! It was the day before the Great Honey Feast, and every bee had something to do. Some were polishing honey jars, some were gathering flowers, and others were preparing treats for the celebration.

Grace peeked into the main room and saw Mom Bee stirring a huge bowl of batter.
“Want to help me?” Mom asked gently.

Grace nodded eagerly, but as soon as she started mixing, batter splashed everywhere — even on Dad Bee’s antennae as he walked by!

Grace giggled, but then she noticed how busy everyone looked.
Buzzby was struggling to carry a stack of dishes.
Dad Bee was sweeping honey crumbs from the floor.
Mom Bee looked tired from stirring the heavy bowl.

Grace’s wings drooped.
“Everyone is working so hard,” she whispered.
“I want to help more.”

She remembered this week’s theme — Sharing & Giving.
Maybe giving wasn’t always about honey or cards.
Maybe giving was also helping your family feel supported.

So Grace buzzed into action.
She helped Buzzby carry the dishes one at a time.
She swept the crumbs so Dad Bee could take a break.
She even stood on a tiny stool and helped Mom stir the batter again — slower, this time, so it didn’t fly everywhere.

The hive grew warmer.
Not because of the honey cakes baking…
but because of the kindness each bee shared with one another.

At the end of the day, the whole family sat down together, tired but smiling.
Dad Bee patted Grace on the head.
“You made today sweeter for all of us,” he said.

Grace felt her heart glow —

“When we give at home, love grows everywhere.”

And it was true.
Giving didn’t have to be big.
Giving didn’t have to be fancy.
Sometimes giving was simply helping the ones you love.

๐Ÿฏ Family Sharing Idea – “Help the Hive” Hour

Try this at home:
๐Ÿงน Help clean or organize
๐Ÿฝ️ Set the table or help with a meal
๐Ÿ’› Ask, “What can I do to help today?”
๐Ÿ Do one small act that makes someone’s load lighter

Little helpers make the whole hive shine.

๐Ÿ’› Grace’s Family Thought

“Home shines brighter when we all share a little sweetness.”
