Learning to Comfort Your Own Heart

The hive felt chilly this morning as winter winds swirled outside. Grace the Bee tucked her wings close to her body and shivered. The cold wasn’t the problem, though… something inside her felt a little unsettled, like her feelings were fluttering too fast.

She didn’t know why.
She wasn’t sad.
She wasn’t upset.
She just felt… overwhelmed.

Grace took a deep breath.
Then she remembered something Queen Bee once said:

“When your feelings feel big, find something small that makes you feel safe.”

So Grace buzzed to her favorite cozy spot — a tiny nook in the hive with a soft honeycomb cushion and warm golden light. She curled up, wrapped her fuzzy scarf around herself, and held her favorite little pillow.

At first, she still felt fluttery.
But slowly…
with each warm breath…
her body relaxed.
Her heartbeat slowed.
Her wings softened.

Grace whispered to herself,
“It’s okay. I’m okay.”

And something magical happened — the buzzing inside her chest quieted.
Her heart felt safe again.
Not because someone fixed her feelings…
but because she comforted herself.

Grace realized something important:

You can be your own safe place.

Just like bees return to the hive for warmth and shelter, our hearts can return to calm when we give ourselves comfort, rest, and kindness.

Grace stayed in her cozy nook a little longer, breathing in sweetness and breathing out softness.
When she finally stood up, she felt lighter — wrapped not just in her scarf, but in the warm feeling of caring for her own heart.

When your feelings feel too big:

✨ Wrap up in a blanket
✨ Hug a pillow or stuffed friend
✨ Sit somewhere warm and quiet
✨ Breathe slowly
✨ Say something kind to yourself

Cozy comfort helps your heart feel safe again.
