Being creative is a brave thing too

When we create, we share our ideas, feelings, and imagination—and that takes courage. There’s no right or wrong way to create. Just showing up is a brave step.

Why Creativity Builds Bravery

Creating helps us:

  • Express feelings we don’t have words for

  • Try something new in a safe way

  • Build confidence through play

  • Feel proud of what we make

You don’t need to be “good” at art.
You just need to try.

Today’s Creative Activity: My Brave Steps

Use paper, crayons, markers, paint, or anything you like.

  1. Draw or write one thing that feels a little scary

  2. Draw or write one small brave step you can try

  3. Add one thing you’re proud of yourself for

If you want, give your picture a title like:
“This Is Me Being Brave.”

Creative Rules from Grace

There are only a few rules in Creative Corner:

  • There is no wrong way

  • Messy is okay

  • Trying matters more than how it looks

  • You don’t have to share unless you want to

Your creation is brave because YOU made it.

Notice How It Feels

After you finish, take a moment to notice:

  • How does your body feel?

  • What part was fun?

  • What part felt brave?

Every time you create, your confidence grows just like bravery does.

For Parents & Caregivers

You can support Creative Corner by:

  • Letting kids lead the activity

  • Avoiding corrections or “fixing”

  • Asking gentle questions like:

    • “Tell me about your picture.”

    • “What part feels brave to you?”

    • “What do you like most about it?”

Celebrate effort, not appearance.

Grace says:
Creating is a brave way to share who you are.
