Confidence doesn’t grow by waiting.
It grows when we try.
Today is Try It Tuesday, and Grace the Bee wants to remind you that confidence gets stronger every time you take a small step even if it feels a little uncomfortable at first.
What Does Trying Have to Do with Confidence?
Trying doesn’t mean you’ll get everything right.
Trying means you’re willing to give yourself a chance.
Every time you try:
-
You learn something new
-
You prove you can handle hard things
-
You show yourself that effort matters
Confidence grows from action not perfection.
Today’s Confidence Challenge
Choose one small thing to try today.
It might be:
-
Saying “I can try” instead of “I can’t”
-
Doing something without asking if it’s perfect
-
Sharing an idea
-
Trying again after a mistake
-
Finishing something you started
-
Doing something on your own
You only need to try once.
One try is enough to help confidence grow.
If Trying Feels Hard
Sometimes trying makes our bodies feel nervous.
That doesn’t mean you should stop.
Grace suggests:
-
Take one slow breath
-
Put your hand on your heart
-
Say: “I’m learning.”
Trying while nervous is still trying and that’s brave.
Grace’s Try-It Rule
You don’t have to:
-
Be the best
-
Get it right
-
Feel confident first
Confidence comes after you try not before.
Notice What Happens
After you try, pause and notice:
-
How do you feel?
-
What did you learn?
-
What are you proud of?
Even small moments count.
For Parents & Caregivers
You can support Try It Tuesday by:
-
Letting kids choose what they try
-
Encouraging effort without pressure
-
Saying:
-
“You tried that matters.”
-
“I’m proud of your effort.”
-
“Trying helps confidence grow.”
-
Grace says: Every time I try, my confidence gets stronger.
